About

Each fancy and high-tech project starts with a brilliant circuit, and for each circuit you always need a power supply to feed the juice. However, unless you have your own workshop or convenient access to a professional lab, getting a desired power supply is just insanely difficult and painful.

You know exactly what I mean, immediately
You know exactly what I mean, immediately

Don’t worry, this problem can be solved from now on once you were introduced with our product: MEGO, a mini power supply that is born to facilitate and accelerate your invention.

As the world’s first versatile portable power supply that is born right for electronic makers and hobbyists, MEGO has a list of features that we bet you would love! Let’s take a look:

MEGO is compatible, it provides wide voltage range from 4V to 24V, which meets your needs for building fancy electronic projects.

MEGO is small and light just like a mouse, which can be put in your pocket or a tool box.

MEGO is rechargeable via a standard universal Micro-USB connector.

MEGO fits directly to a standard breadboard. Just simply plug in to enjoy the rest.

MEGO can also charge your phone like a power bank.

MEGO is designed to be user friendly and easy to operate

Don't be supersized that MEGO can also measure DC voltage as a voltmeter

With the unique advantages and features of MEGO, here are some examples in which you can use a MEGO for:

Power up your board using standard DC 5V? It is easy!

Need higher voltage for your project? There you go!

Drive a DC motor for your fancy invention? No problem.

Need to connect to a non-breadboard circuit? Of course!

By the way, build your breadboard circuits as a professional guy, not like me~~~

Of course, there has been tons of examples where you can play with MEGO, and your imagination and creativity are always the ultimate power to create the soul of MEGO.

Pledge #12, 13, 14: A Mysterious Legend of MEGO Kingdom

The idea of MEGO was conceived by our dream chasers who yearned to make a difference on how our younger generations are motivated and enlightened with engineering and science today.

Back to those days at our beautiful school, Simon Fraser University, where we enjoyed the struggling of debugging circuits in the labs for days and nights, we were motivated to come up with an invention that can truly help us with our labs and projects. For the same goal,we reunited after graduation and collaborate on what became our first pre-commercial project, MEGO.

Before the team-up, each of the members have received adequate electronics knowledge at university and have gone through practical training during industry internships/researches. During years of graduate studies in the engineering and industrial practices, we developed outstanding skills in advanced electronics design, scientific research and product development. While many of our research works were published at well-known technology associations such IEEE, SPIE and etc, and also have been acknowledged as patent registered at USPTO and CPO that are ready for commercialization. In addition, we have supervised multiple undergraduate Capstone projects (eight month long, engineering challenging projects completed by teams of five senior students) which led to success and fulfillment in their undergraduate career.

MEGO’s full-stack development process, including hardware design, manufacturing, supply-chain management, final integration and testing, are completed upon the teamworks of all members. The non-technical components of the project such as video shooting and editing were outsourced to our collaboration team graduated from SFU IAT.

What's been shown in this campaign is our prototype of MEGO, and of course the actual product will look even better! Assuming we can successfully have this project funded on Kickstarter, we will have more resources and funding to put in MEGO production, and develop further projects, which are featured with more functionality, better portability and nicer usability. The series of these ongoing projects, a.k.a "Lab-on-the-go" series, will be our essential goal for next year.

In the end, we are dedicate to better help our younger generations enjoy the fun of inventing, and assist those who had dreams and passions!

Hope to see you next year, with more of our fruits!

Risks and challenges

Before launching our project on Kickstarter, we’ve made multiple revisions of the 3D printed prototypes for MEGO, and worked closely with our partner manufacturers to ensure the success for future production. We also spent a lot of efforts to calculate the shipping rates from various couriers and post office to determine the most economic and efficient deal on your shipping.

However, this is our first time to launch a project on Kickstarter, and we can predict that unexpected issues may happen. For example, we were enduring a strike of Canada post, which could cause delays of shipping. Due to situations like this, we may have some buffer on our schedule. But we will ensure that we deliver your product and always keep you updated.
