My Story

I have always been very closed to my family, all of them. I enjoy every single moment with them because as time goes by, things will change, people will change, and so does everything in the world. We cannot stop things from changing, we should try to treasure every moment that we have with our loved ones.

Few years ago, I wanted to get a birthday present for my grandmother who was nearly 90-year-old. As my whole family, which age gap spans from 2+ to 80+ years old, would gather around and celebrate, I wanted to make it a memorable and special day for everyone. I tried hard to find something entertaining, exciting, and at the same time, educational. Yet, I could not find anything out there that suited my needs, so I think to myself: why can’t I design and make one?

I got a click on a Halloween night when I saw children strolling through the neighbourhood with their parents playing “Trick or Treat”. The genuine smile on everyone’s face and their interactions just touched me so much, so I began to do research and analysis on toys and games, hoping to create something which resembled that moment. After many trials and errors, I have finally created the product, “Trick or Tree”!

“Trick or Tree” is a toy and/or a game. It focuses on all the fundamental elements like geometrical shapes, colors, and calculation. Through “Trick or Tree”, children can learn while playing with the blocks; elderly can exercise their brain through the game; adults can challenge one another with witty calculations and tactics. As a result, everyone can get something out of it, and that a family gathering will no longer be a mobile phone party.  

In the age of technology, we have advanced in so many ways but interaction – real physical interactions among people. Our own private worlds are so huge that no dining table is fit for a family anymore. Maybe it is time for us to embrace human interactions again before it is too late.

I hope “Trick or Tree” can be one of the toys or games that will bring joy and laughter to your next family gathering, and for those who have children or elderly at home, I wish “Trick or Tree” could help them through their learning/cognitive training process.

"Trick or Tree" - Colorful Edition comes in 4 different colors magnetic blocks with 6 different shapes  (24 magnetic blocks), a tree trunk, a standing reinforcement base, and colorful playing cards. 

"Trick or tree" - Original Edition in natural wood colors with 6 different shapes (24 magnetic blocks), a tree truck, a standing reinforcement base and playing cards. 

Colorful Edition - consists of 24 magnetic blocks, of which there are 6 of each color: yellow, green, red, and blue. Good for cognitive training and recognition.

"Trick or Tree" in 6 different shapes : Triangle, Parallelogram,Square, Diamond, Rectangle and Trapezium. Fundamental shapes are good for cognitive training and recognition.

Playing cards is designed in size larger than typical cards [15cm (tall) x 10cm (wide)], which is easier for kids and elderly to handle. Round cornered with beautiful colors and illustration. 50 cards in each deck. 

Instructions printed on the cards: 

• Match the SHAPE on card with the corresponding block, then put it on the tree-trunk. 
• Match the COLOR on card with the corresponding block, then put it on the tree-trunk.
• Choose any SHAPE on table, then put it on the tree-trunk.
• Choose any COLOR on table, then put it on the tree-trunk.
• Choose any 1 block on the tree-trunk and REMOVE it. 
• WITHDRAW 2 extra cards and follow the instruction. 
• Player needs to STOP for one round.

Players take turns to draw card one at a time, then follow the instruction printed on the card.

Each block has 2 magnets stably fixed on opposite sides; the tree-trunk also has magnets stably fixed on each side.

Players have to stick the block onto the tree-trunk.

It's all about balance. As the game goes on, the blocks formation on each side will vary. The imbalance of each creation will cause the tree to fall.

Colorful Edition - comes in 4 different fundamental colors: 

• Red
• Green
• Blue
• Yellow

It is beautifully designed, and is for cognitive training.

Colorful/Original Edition - comes in 6 different geometrical shapes: 

• Square
• Rectangle
• Trapezium
• Parallelogram
• Triangle
• Diamond 

Different block weight differently according to its shape.

This is a great cognitive training toys and games, especially for young children and old people.

The tree-trunk can be attached on the reinforcement base to prevent it from falling.

With the reinforcement base, players can :

• Create a "Tree-Shape Artwork" or 
• Create any Artwork by imagination with 6 different shapes of blocks

In this way, players can train their creativity and innovation.

We use FSC certified wood. FSC stands for Forest Stewardship Council, whose mission is to promote environmentally sound, socially beneficial, and economically prosperous management of the world’s forests.

 Trick or Tree is prefect for children. It helps training their cognitive abilities.

Kids need to use strategy and planning to win the game, thus stimulates their cognitive abilities.

Trick or Tree is also great for elderly. It's not only a game for cognitive training, but also a tool to enrich their social life.

Elderly can exercise their brains through shapes and colors. It's also a fun way for them to interact with old, or even new friends.

Trick or Tree is a game for all ages, so no matter if you're a kid, an adult, or an elderly, everyone can play together!

With Trick or Tree, we can bond with each other with learning and joy.

"Trick or Tree" is a brand new design which combines fun, entertainment, interaction, cognitive training, and creativity purpose in one game.

We had spent more than 4 years from brainstorming, designing, modeling, revising, testing, and finalizing this project. Thank you so much for all the people who helps making this project happen. We are so glad to announce that we are finally ready for production and deliver to our customers.
